Jamie has created a range of traditional, yet contemporary products, exploiting the natural shades and individual felting qualities of un-dyed wools as a base, accented minimally with dyed Merino and specialist yarns. Coarse wool from mountain sheep is chosen as a base for durability in large bags while finer wool is used for a delicate finish in hats.

It is generally accepted that good felt is fulled (shrunk) to 2/3 it’s original size but Jamie takes time to layer his wool more finely over a larger area and full (shrink) to half it’s original size, making a stronger, more consistent felt. Many hours of layering, rubbing and rolling can be put into a single piece and Jamie is keen to finish his work in a way that reflects this.

Wonky Wool Satchels...

Natural wools backed with dyed Merino are felted to incorporate wobbly decorative stripes, magnetic fasteners and a bellowing ‘wonky’ bottom to allow for carrying bulkier luggage and finished with a thick adjustable leather strap and quality, pocketed cotton linings.

Natural Wool Trilbies...

Hand-felted from shades of fine natural wools these hats are shaped over a Fedora style hat block and trimmed to feature a short upturned Trilby style brim. Finished with a handmade band to compliment, often from old shirts, wool trousers and ties. Designed to be soft enough to adapt to different head shapes whilst holding their shape, these hats are un-stiffened for a more casual look.

Sizes and brim width vary and trying them on is highly recommended. Available at market stalls, shows and selected stockists.

Fine natural wools in greys, whites and browns felted around scoured lambswool, shaped and decorated to resemble beach pebbles. Some also made in dyed black, charcoal and salmon pink Merino by request.

Jamie’s pebbles were used by Trigger Happy TV’s Dom Joly during his 2011 UK tour. Dom was famously hit in the eye by a stone on I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here and he is encouraging audiences to recreate the moment. Obviously, real stones being thrown around theatres would cause some Health and Safety concerns but the small size used by Dom weigh less than 10g, are softer than plastic or polystyrene and can be thrown further than foam.
